THE NEW YEAR’S EVE PROGRAM IN THE DESERT

Day 1

Pickup at 7:30 AM from your accommodation in Tozeur.

Visit to Ksar Ouled Soltane.

Guided tour of the Berber village of Chenini.

Lunch in Guermassa.

Departure to the oasis of Ksar Ghilane.

At Ksar Ghilane, visit the oasis with the option to swim in the 32°C hot spring (Optional).

Options:

Camel ride for 1 hour / €15

Quad ride for 1 hour / €30

Departure by 4x4 to the comfortable Saharan camp via the track (20 km).

Watch the sunset and see a demonstration of bread baking in the sand.

New Year's Eve Celebration: Festive New Year's Eve dinner at the Saharan restaurant and overnight in a private tent in the desert.

Day 2

Breakfast and free time in the dunes.

Departure to Matmata via the Berber village of Tamezret.

Visit a troglodyte house and discover the lunar landscape of the region.

Lunch in Tamezret.

Visit to Matmata and its troglodyte houses.

Return and drop-off at your accommodation in Tozeur

Information:
The tour is done in 4X4 .

Our vehicles can be equipped with baby seats on request.

This tour is not open to people with reduced mobility.

No telephone network in the desert.

Take away:

Concerning the equipment, you must bring a bag (it is better for the sand).

Your change for the duration of the excursion or circuit, a flashlight or headlamp, as well as towels (not provided at the Saharan camp).

For the evening, bring warm clothes as it can be very cold in winter.

If you are cold, for the camp we recommend sports tracksuits for sleeping and if you need to go out at night.

Blankets, pillows and sheets are provided at the camp.

HIGHLIGHTS OF EVE UNDER THE STARS OF THE TUNISIAN DESERT

Day 1: Tozeur to Ksar Ghilane

Morning:

Your journey starts in Tozeur, heading towards the enchanting oasis of Ksar Ghilane.

Lunch:

The first stop includes a traditional lunch at the foot of the majestic Sahara dunes.

Afternoon:

Explore the wonders of the oasis.

Optional Activities at Ksar Ghilane: These activities can be paid for directly on site.

Swimming in the 32°C hot spring (Free).

Camel ride for €15/hour.

Quad tour to the ancient Roman fort of Tisavar for €30/hour.

Evening:

At dusk, join our comfortable Saharan camp where a unique cultural experience awaits: a demonstration of traditional bread baking in the sand.

Enjoy an open bar aperitif around the campfire with Tunisian drinks, non-alcoholic beverages, and appetizers, along with folkloric entertainment and a camel fantasia.

New Year's Eve Dinner:

The festive dinner will be served in the restaurant with additional entertainment: a folkloric group and a DJ to set the mood.

The meal will include:

Lamb gargoulette (lamb cooked with vegetables in a sealed jar).

Day 2: Discovering Matmata and Returning to Tozeur

Morning:

The first day of the year begins with a peaceful breakfast in the desert, followed by a trip to Matmata, famous for its troglodyte houses and Star Wars settings.

Lunch:

Enjoy an authentic lunch with locals in Tamezret.

Afternoon:

Begin the journey back to Tozeur, crossing the lunar landscape of Chott El Jerid.

Evening:

Your adventure concludes in Tozeur, where we will drop you off at your accommodation, with unforgettable memories of this exceptional New Year's Eve in the Tunisian desert.
