Celebrate New Year's Eve in an unforgettable way with a two-day excursion from Tunis to the heart of the Tunisian desert.

After your flight to Djerba (On request).and an enriching visit to Ksar Ouled Soltane and Chenini, immerse yourself in the captivating atmosphere of the Ksar Ghilane oasis. Optionally, enjoy a camel or quad ride.

The New Year's Eve evening takes place in a comfortable Saharan camp, where you will watch the sunset and the traditional baking of bread in the sand, before enjoying a festive dinner and partying during the lively evening, special New Year's Eve Year.

Night in a private tent and the following day exploration of Matmata, its lunar landscape and its troglodyte houses.

This adventure is a perfect fusion of culture, nature and festivities, ideal for welcoming the New Year.

THE NEW YEAR’S PROGRAM IN THE DESERT

Day 1

Departure from Tunis airport at 07:00, flight to Djerba. (On request).
Arrival at 08:00, pickup at Djerba Zarzis airport.
Visit to Ksar Ouled Soltane.
Guided tour of the Berber village of Chenini.
Lunch in Guermassa.
Departure to the oasis of Ksar Ghilane.
At Ksar Ghilane, visit the oasis with the option to swim in the 32°C hot spring (Optional).
Optional Activities: Camel ride for 1 hour / €15. - Quad ride for 1 hour / €30.
These activities can be paid for directly on site.
Departure by 4x4 to the comfortable Saharan camp via the track (20 km).
Watch the sunset and see a demonstration of bread baking in the sand.
New Year's Eve Celebration: Festive New Year's Eve dinner at the Saharan restaurant and overnight in a private tent in the desert.

Day 2

Breakfast and free time in the dunes.
Departure to Matmata via the Berber village of Tamezret.
Visit a troglodyte house and discover the lunar landscape of the region.
Lunch in Tamezret.
Visit to Matmata and its troglodyte houses.
Return to Djerba and drop-off at the airport in the late afternoon around 18:00.
Return flight to Tunis at 20:15 (On request).
Arrival in Tunis at 21:15.

We also offer this excursion over 3 days with an additional night in a luxurious desert camp.

New Year's Eve Program:

Information:
The tour is done either by 4X4 or by microbus depending on the number of participants .

Our vehicles can be equipped with baby seats on request.

This tour is not open to people with reduced mobility.

No telephone network in the desert.

Take away:

Concerning the equipment, you must include in a bag (this is better for sand).

Your change for the duration of the excursion or circuit, a flashlight or headlamp, as well as towels (not provided at the Saharan camp).

For the evening, bring warm clothes as it can be very cold in winter.

If you are cold, for the camp we recommend sports tracksuits for sleeping and if you need to go out at night.

Blankets, pillows and sheets are provided at the camp.

Scarf or scarf for the quad.
Swimwear.

Embark on a Magical Getaway: New Year's Eve in the Tunisian Desert - Two-Day tour from Tunis

Your adventure begins with a morning flight to Djerba (available upon request), followed by a fascinating exploration of Ksar Ouled Soltane and the Berber village of Chenini.

After a delicious lunch in Guermassa, head to the enchanting oasis of Ksar Ghilane, where you can swim in a hot spring and opt for a camel ride or a quad ride.

In the evening, join a comfortable Saharan camp to witness a magnificent sunset and discover the traditional bread baking in the sand. The New Year's Eve celebration promises a festive dinner in an extraordinary setting, followed by a night under the stars in your private tent.

On the second day, after a relaxing breakfast and free time in the dunes, head to Matmata via the Berber village of Tamezret. There, you will visit a troglodyte house and discover the lunar landscapes of the region. After lunch in Tamezret, explore the troglodyte houses of Matmata before returning to Djerba for your flight back to Tunis (available upon request).

This excursion invites you to discover the cultural and natural richness of the Tunisian desert, blending history, culture, and wonder in a breathtaking Saharan setting.

At Ksar Ghilane, you will have the opportunity to engage in activities:

Swim in the 32°C hot spring (Free).
Camel ride for €15/hour.
Quad ride to the ancient Roman fort of Tisavar for €30/hour.

These activities can be paid for directly on site.

Then, travel by 4x4 to the comfortable Saharan camp located about 20 km south to witness the sunset over the dunes, learn about traditional bread baking in the sand, and spend New Year's Eve in the desert.

Open bar aperitif around the campfire with Tunisian drinks, non-alcoholic beverages, and appetizers.

Folkloric entertainment and a camel fantasia.

The New Year's Eve dinner will be served in the restaurant with additional entertainment:

A folkloric group and a DJ to set the mood.

The meal will include a variety of dishes, such as:

Appetizers (kemia).
Seafood soup.
Salad plates.
Lamb gargoulette (lamb cooked with vegetables in a sealed jar).
Seasonal fruit salad.
Tunisian pastries and mint tea.

You will also have access to the bar, with unlimited red, rosé, or white wine, water, and sodas.

At midnight, a traditional champagne toast will be served to celebrate the New Year.

Spend the first night of the new year in your private tent, continuing to enjoy the desert atmosphere.

The first day of the year will begin with a peaceful breakfast in the desert, followed by a trip to Matmata, famous for its troglodyte houses and Star Wars settings.

Lunch with locals in Tamezret will offer you an authentic experience before returning to the airport in Djerba for your flight back to Tunis in the late afternoon, concluding two days of adventure, discovery, and an unforgettable New Year's Eve in the Tunisian desert.

This program is also offered over 3 days with an additional night in the desert.
