Leave the island of Djerba behind for a full-day journey deep into the heart of the Tunisian Sahara.

At sunrise, your driver picks you up for an unforgettable trip to Douz, known as the gateway to the desert.

There, a team of experienced camel handlers will welcome you and guide you through a two-hour ride across peaceful sand dunes.

The slow rhythm of the camel, the silence of the Sahara, and the golden light create a magical atmosphere.

Enjoy a traditional desert lunch in the open air before heading back to Djerba.

This is a perfect adventure for travelers seeking authenticity, simplicity, and a true connection with the nomadic way of life.

DESERT CAMEL RIDE DAY TRIP PROGRAM

Pick-up at 6:30 am in front of your accommodation in Djerba and departure for Douz.
Arrival in Douz around 10am.

After a coffee break, you'll meet your camel drivers and their dromedaries.

Then it's off for the camel ride, a 2-hour immersion in the desert on camels.

For lunch, the camel drivers will prepare a traditional Tunisian meal in the desert: Tunisian salad, grilled meats and bread baked in the sand.

Return to Douz mid-afternoon, to meet your driver and his vehicle.

Return to Djerba and drop-off in front of your accommodation in Djerba.

Do not forget:

Solar cream.
Hat or cap.
Scarf or scarf.
Pair of sunglasses.
A gourd.
A small backpack.
Camera.
Some cash for your personal expenses.

Information:

Transportation is either by 4x4 or minibus depending on the number of participants.

Our vehicles can be equipped with baby seats on request.

This day trip is not open to people with reduced mobility.

Our prices are reduced according to the number of participants, up to 5 people per 4x4 maximum:

For 5 people, price per person	€90
For 4 people, price per person	€100
For 3 people, price per person	€120
For 2 people, price per person	€160

For more than 5 people and a single person, contact us!

For private day trips, reductions for children under 11 only apply to groups of 4 or more paying adults.

The price includes:

Pick-up and drop-off at your place of stay.

Transport by 4x4 or private minibus, with driver.

The services of an ONTT* approved camel guide

The 2-hour camel ride.

Picnic lunch.

Entrance fees to planned visits in the program.

Domestic or international flights.
