FROM ZARZIS A CAMEL RIDE TO DOUZ IN THE DESERT

Leave Zarzis for a journey that begins by the sea and ends in the golden sands of the Sahara.

After crossing scenic southern plains by 4x4, you’ll arrive in Douz and meet your local camel guides for a peaceful two-hour trek into the dunes.

Ride at a slow and soothing pace, take in the endless views, and share stories over a traditional lunch prepared in the heart of the desert.

This full-day escape offers a perfect balance of culture, nature, and tranquility – far from crowded tourist spots, yet easily accessible from your hotel in Zarzis.

PROGRAM OF THE CAMEL RIDE TO DOUZ IN THE DESERT FROM ZARZIS

Pick-up at 6:30 a.m. in front of your place of stay in Zarzis and departure for Douz.

Arrival in Douz around 10 a.m.

After a coffee break you will meet your camel drivers and their dromedaries.

Then, it's time for the camel ride, 2 hours immersed in the desert on camels.

For lunch, the camel drivers will prepare a traditional Tunisian meal for you in the desert: A Tunisian salad, grilled meats, and bread baked in the sand.

Return to Douz in the middle of the afternoon, to meet your driver and his vehicle.

Return to Zarzis and drop off in front of your place of stay.

Pair of sunglasses.
A gourd.
A small backpack.
Camera.
Some cash for your personal expenses.

Information:

Transportation is either by 4x4 or minibus depending on the number of participants.

Our vehicles can be equipped with baby seats on request.

This day trip is not open to people with reduced mobility.

Our prices are reduced according to the number of participants, up to 5 people per 4x4 maximum:

For private day trips, reductions for children under 11 only apply to groups of 4 or more paying adults.
