PROGRAM OF THE BERBER TREK FROM TATAOUINE TO KSAR GHILANE

Day 1:

Pickup at 7:30 AM from your accommodation.
Departure towards Tataouine, the capital of the Berber region.
Visit Ksar Ouled Soltane, one of the many granaries in the region.
Visit Ksar Beni Barka.
Lunch at a restaurant in Guermassa.
Guided tour of the perched village of Chenini, a must-see in the region.
Departure for a 2.5-hour trek in the Djebel Dahar from Chenini to the village of Douiret.
Arrival at the village of Douiret.
Free time, followed by dinner and overnight stay in a troglodyte guesthouse.

Day 2:

Breakfast at the troglodyte guesthouse.
Departure towards the oasis of Ksar Ghilane.
Lunch at a restaurant at the foot of the dunes of Ksar Ghilane.
Optional: Quad ride (€30/hour) or camel ride (€15/hour) in the desert.
Free time to enjoy the oasis.
Swim in the 32°C hot spring (if desired).
Transfer by 4x4 to the Saharan camp, located 20 km south of Ksar Ghilane.
Setup at the comfortable camp in Saharan tents (double tents).
Witness the traditional bread baking ceremony in the sand.
Dinner at the camp, followed by a walk in the dunes and stargazing (weather permitting).
Overnight stay in your private tent.

Day 3:

Breakfast at the Saharan camp.
Free time to enjoy the desert.
Departure by 4x4 to Matmata, famous for its troglodyte houses and Star Wars filming locations.
Lunch with a local family in the village of Tamezret.
Visit Matmata.
Return and drop-off at your accommodation in the late afternoon, around 5:30 PM.
