Get ready for a timeless desert escape.

At 6:30 a.m., we’ll pick you up directly from your accommodation in Djerba and head south through arid plains and sandy tracks toward one of Tunisia’s most enchanting oases: Ksar Ghilane.

Nestled between ochre dunes and lush palms, this remote desert haven is the starting point of your camel journey.

After a welcome break and a coffee, you’ll meet your experienced camel guides for a 3-hour Méharée – a peaceful trek across vast desert landscapes, where silence and serenity reign.

In the heart of the Sahara, enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by your guide: Tunisian salad, grilled meat, and bread baked in the sand – a genuine Bedouin experience.

Before heading back, take a refreshing dip in the natural hot spring (32°C) under the open sky.

Then relax during the return journey to Djerba, with unforgettable images of the desert imprinted in your memory.

PROGRAM OF THE CAMEL RIDE AT KSAR GHILANE IN THE DESERT

Pick-up at 6:30 a.m. in front of your place of stay at Djerba and departure for Ksar Ghilane.
Arrival at Ksar Ghilane around 10 a.m.
After a coffee break, you will meet your camel drivers and their dromedaries.
Then, it's time for Méharée, 3 hours immersed in the desert on the back of a camel.
Lunch, the camel driver will prepare you a traditional Tunisian meal in the desert:

Tunisian salad - Grills - Bread baked in the sand.

Return to Ksar Ghilane, possibility of bathing in the hot water spring at 32°.
In the middle of the afternoon, we will leave Ksar Ghilane for the return journey.
Return and drop-off in front of your place of stay at Djerba.

Information:

Transportation is either by 4x4 or minibus depending on the number of participants.

Our vehicles can be equipped with baby seats on request.

This day trip is not open to people with reduced mobility.

Do not forget:

Solar cream.
Hat or cap.
Scarf or scarf.
Pair of sunglasses.
A small backpack.
Camera.
Some cash for your personal expenses.
Swimwear and bath towel if you want to bathe in the hot spring.

Our prices are reduced according to the number of participants, up to 5 people per 4x4 maximum:

For private day trips, reductions for children under 11 only apply to groups of 4 or more paying adults.

The price includes:

Pick-up and drop-off at your place of stay.
Transport by 4x4 or private minibus, with driver.
The services of an ONTT* approved camel guide
Lunch in bivouac.
The 3-hour camel ride.
Entrance fees to the visits planned in the program.
